BAMMER

exposure try # 2 may have been a bust as well.

light 17" above
exposed for 4:30

the room started smelling good which consequently meant something bad; the halogen light started to burn the wooden planks i used to hang the light. dumb. i meant to expose for a full 5 minutes but once the smoke started billowing i cut the cord.

as of right now, it seems that several things may have gone wrong.

too light of applications for the emulsion.
the emulsion was dry, not tacky so i don't think it wasn't the time between coating the screen and exposing it, but who knows.
there are some serious drips going on. storing the coated screen in my tupperware cabinet may not suffice. i'm gonna need some real racks in a real dark room.
once i blasted the screen with water, it seemed like all the emulsion was starting to get murky and come off. i'm going to attribute this to 1) not enough emulsion and 2) too warm of water to begin with maybe?

i blasted enough to see the entire image and then pulled it out of the water to dry. i'm going to try to print them tomorrow and see if 1) the emulsion held up (which would mean it wasn't the coating process that went wrong and 2) the exposure time was okay.

hm.
